Spring is here! Can you feel it?
Spring is a powerful season for change which is why we often get the urge to clean and tidy up the house, change out the wardrobe and freshen up the garden. Spring is the perfect time give your body a bit of a clean and tidy up too as this will give you more energy and leave you feeling light, jumping out of bed in the morning and ready for anything.
When thinking about Spring – Think Green. When preparing meals, think green. Green foods work to repair the ligaments, tendons and joints of the body. Try leafy green salads and waking up to fresh ginger style green smoothies. Think of light steamed green veggies like broccoli, zucchini, snow peas, green beans and shallots with your dinner and garnish your meals with fresh green herbs like basil, coriander, parsley, and rosemary.
Put more free-flowing and outdoor activities into your exercise regime. Replace your gym or pool sessions with a bush walk, invigorating bike ride or a swim in the ocean. If meditation is your thing, try it outside with your eyes open and enjoy your surroundings.
In Spring our yoga is governed by the Wood Element which is our Liver and Gallbladder meridians. It is the time for inspiration, the time for trying something new or a change in direction.
