3 day fasting is not hard but you can make it even easier if you plan ahead. Your whole family might not want to fast with you. So if you are the one who cooks all the meals then you might want to plan the menus for the rest of the family before you start your fast. I always find that it is better to cook their evening meals in advance. This means that you can just serve them their meal and then have the time to concentrate on cooking your food with love – and without stress. If I cook when I’m stressed or cranky then my food does not taste as good, more like my food is a bit cranky too.
Your 3 Day Fasting Menu is simple:
Breakfast will be rice porridge or congee and toasted seeds
Lunch is a bean and veggie casserole with lots of leafy greens and
Dinner is miso soup or tamari broth with soba noodles.
If you really need to have a snack in between meals then this is when you can have a piece of fruit like apple or pear, raw veggie sticks or a mix of toasted seeds and nuts. You can prepare some great tamari toasted sunflower seeds this weekend and store them in a glass air tight jar to enjoy.
Sunflower Seeds with Tamari
1/2 cup of Sunflower Seeds
1 tablespoon of Tamari
All you have to do to make this great snack and condiment you dry roast the sunflower seeds in a pan until seeds are lightly browned. Remove the pan from the heat and immediately add the tamari, mixing it through the seeds for even distribution and absorption. Pop the seeds on a tray to cool and dry. These also make a delicious topping on your congee or rice porridge breakfast.
